armasuisse Science and Technology (S+T)

armasuisse

armasuisse is the competence centre for procurement, technology and real estate within the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS). It is responsible for acquiring systems, equipment, services and infrastructure for the Swiss Armed Forces and other federal security customers. armasuisse manages the entire lifecycle of defence-related projects, from evaluation and procurement to maintenance and disposal, ensuring efficiency, sustainability and operational readiness. The Chief of Armament reports directly to the Head of the DDPS. Through its work, armasuisse strengthens Switzerland’s security and technological sovereignty.

armasuisse Science et Technologie (S+T)

armasuisse S+T is the technological centre of the DDPS. It conducts research, innovation and system testing in areas such as cyber defence, sensor systems, communication technologies and modelling & simulation. By bridging science, industry and government, S+T supports the development and evaluation of technologies that enhance Switzerland’s security and defence capabilities.

Kepstronic

We develop intelligent solutions for control, simulation, and testing of complex dynamic systems.

Flight Management System
Our integrated flight automation system is designed for light-class helicopters, combining autopilot, avionics, communication, power distribution, and digital engine control. A key focus is the development of a compact and reliable piston engine, specifically adapted for rotorcraft and fully integrated into the control architecture.

Test & Simulation
We design both virtual and physical environments for system testing — from real-time simulators and hardware-in-the-loop setups to test benches with actual test objects. Our experience includes modeling vehicle dynamics, semi-physical testing of gas turbine engines, and evaluation of key aircraft components.

Together, these capabilities enable us to design, test, and deliver robust flight technologies — from control systems to propulsion — ready for real-world deployment.

Jekta Switzerland

Jekta Switzerland SA is aircraft manufacturer. Currently Jekta is developing regional amphibious electric aircraft for 19 passengers: PHA-ZE 100. PHA-ZE 100 is uniquely designed to be operated on land and water aerodrome with minimum maintenance requirements. Aircraft is designed to meet the growing demand in hydro aviation and replace the existing outdated models available on the market.

UASystems

UASystems SA is a “think tank” for manned, unmanned and optionally piloted rotary wing VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircraft with MTOW 700+ kg. From the first conception to technology transfer in cooperation with strong partners based at the Swiss Aéropôle, Payerne, Switzerland. Together with our partners, we are teamed with over 50 top experts ranging from research and development to production, marketing, and certification of our products and, in the future, for third-party products.

Destinus

Destinus is a European aerospace company based in Switzerland, France, Germany, and Spain, building hydrogen powered aeroplanes that will make ultra-long-range hypersonic flight part of everyday life in the near term. These aeroplanes combine the most advanced aeronautical and space technologies, reducing the time for intercontinental transport by an order of magnitude without compromising on comfort, cost, or versatility. The long-range capabilities, enabled by hydrogen as fuel, will open new flight paths for cargo and passenger transportation anywhere on Earth. And we’re doing it right here in Payerne, where we’re setting up a facility for ground tests with hydrogen!

Solar Stratos

About SolarStratos, « To the edge of space »

SolarStratos is an adventure of the SolarXplorers SA group. This mission, undertaken by Swiss eco- explorer Raphaël Domjan, pursues the goal of achieving the first stratospheric manned solar flight.

Beyond technological innovations, SolarStratos aims to promote solar energy and the electrification of our society in order to fight greenhouse gas emissions and protect our environment from climate change. SolarStratos also aims to demonstrate that with current technologies, it is possible to achieve feats that exceed the potential of fossil fuels and to fly at high altitude, where no electric and solar aircraft has yet ventured.
