The rocket reached 105 meters in altitude, stabilized, and then gently landed back on its launch pad — a European first for a student-built rocket of this type.
A Technical Feat Achieved by Students
Entirely designed and built by the members of the GSP, this bipropellant rocket with vertical take-off and landing (VTVL) represents a significant advancement in the field of reusable launchers. With a budget of 250,000 Swiss francs, funded by sponsors, the team demonstrated its ability to compete with private companies in this sector.
A First Step Towards the Future
This success is part of a series of eight test flights conducted by the GSP, the latest of which took place on October 23, 2024. These tests validated the performance of the flight control system and confirmed the reliability of the reusable rocket concept.
With this project, the GSP has not only made history in European aerospace but also laid the foundation for a future Swiss company dedicated to space mobility: PAVE Space.
