Federal Council approves adjustment of planning parameters for two airports

The development of Payerne Airport is progressing!

Yesterday, the Federal Council approved the amendment of two sections of the Sectoral Aviation Infrastructure Plan (PSIA), including the section concerning the military airfield with civilian co-use in Payerne.

This step marks an important development for the site:
➡️ Adjustment of civil operating hours
➡️ Increase in the number of movements authorized during marginal slots
➡️ Adjustment of the airport perimeter

These changes will enable us to better meet the needs of users and the cantons of Fribourg and Vaud, while maintaining Payerne’s role as a key operational site for the Swiss Air Force. They will also support regional economic development by promoting the establishment of aviation, technology, and innovation-related activities at the Swiss Aeropole park and in its immediate vicinity.
Depuis 2013, l’aérodrome de Payerne incarne un modèle unique de cohabitation entre activités militaires et civiles, soutenant à la fois la sécurité nationale et le développement régional.
